Pennsylvania

In the state of Pennsylvania, a warrant is no longer needed for the search of an automobile. Something extremely outrageous is a bill that is trying to be passed right now. The bill that is to be passed allows for someone to be arrested even if nothing is found inside the car. If the police officer searching your car, warrantless I may add, finds a secret compartment, you could just be arrested. This brings in a lot of questions, such as, what is a "secret" compartment? Your glove box? Under the seat? Maybe even your sunglass holder. This bill would leave many people absolutely outraged, especially those wronged by the law.

Meteor Shower

Today and tonight, around 11PM to 4AM, a never before seen meteor shower will appear from out of the northern sky. If you direct your attention towards the constellation camelopardalis, the peak of the shower will be around 2 in the morning. This is the first time that we have seen this meteor shower. Meteor showers occur when the earth moves into a cloud of particles, roughly the size of a clump of dirt, and the contact causes them to vaporize in the earths atmosphere. Because this is the first time we've encountered this dust cloud, the shower may end up being more like a meteor storm. One thing's for certain, if you can muster yourself to stay awake until the wee hours of the morning, you won't be disappointed.

I love Italy

This year, the country of Italy will include illegal drug sales and prostitution costs in the calculation of the Gross Domestic Product, or GDP for short. They are hoping that by including the sales of Cocaine and sex trafficking they will meet their deficit targets. The economy of this Mediterranean country has been stagnant as of late, around 3 percent less than it was in the year 2001. Italy's Prime Minister said that after four recessions in the past 13 years, something needed to be done, and apparently counting this illegal, underground dirty money was the solution to the countries problems.

55

55. That is the number of the worlds smallest dolphins left in the wild. Native to the waters around New Zealand, there is a chance that these mysterious creatures could disappear within a time period of three centuries. With the involvement of the WWF, they plan on getting around 55,000 signatures on a petition to protect these animals. With it being election year in New Zealand, the WWF will try to sway the voters to whoever has policies protecting the Dolphin. The Maui dolphin needs to be protected. The international whaling committee put out a comment recently regarding the dolphins, hypothesizing that all 55 will be gone by 2031.

Jar Jar Binks voted most loved Star Wars character of all time

Today at comicon Los Angeles, all star wars fans voted unanimously that Jar Jar Binks is the most loved character in the star wars franchise. Although it took well over an eon for fans to come to this conclusion, many are glad they have finally agreed upon this end result. A big surprise in 2nd place is the young Boba Fett. Often times thought of as one of the most useless, pointless, poorly thought out character with the lamest lego piece in existence, he has finally seemed to win over the hearts of the fans.

Moon

The moon took a hard hit yesterday from a 400kg as the large object collided with it. The meteor moving at 61,000 km/h impacted the moon with enough force to create a 40 meter wide crater. The impact created a flash that was seen from earth. The impact was equivalent to 15 tons of TNT and was first seen by a Spanish Telescope. "This impact … shows that the rate of impacts on our planet for rocks of this size, around one metre in diameter, is about 10 times greater than we thought."

poop

Ever been to a drive through and thought that your drink tasted a bit wonky? Now there is a study out in Florida that shows that the ice they put in your drinks is dirtier than toilet water collected from the same restaurants. The most likely cause of the bad ice is uncleaned machines or dirty hands. People may not wash their hands before scooping ice, spreading certain bacteria, such as E. Coli. It seems as though toilet water is pretty gross, but its actually bacteria free, thanks to water filtration.
