55. That is the number of the worlds smallest dolphins left in the wild. Native to the waters around New Zealand, there is a chance that these mysterious creatures could disappear within a time period of three centuries. With the involvement of the WWF, they plan on getting around 55,000 signatures on a petition to protect these animals. With it being election year in New Zealand, the WWF will try to sway the voters to whoever has policies protecting the Dolphin. The Maui dolphin needs to be protected. The international whaling committee put out a comment recently regarding the dolphins, hypothesizing that all 55 will be gone by 2031.
